Terry Wogan dead: The broadcaster singing The Floral Dance on Top of the Pops is the perfect way to remember him

Terry Wogan will always be remembered for his iconic Radio 2 show, hosting Eurovision and singing about a quaint old Cornish town.

In 1978, the broadcaster released a rendition of “The Floral Dance” accompanied by the Hanwell Band, the song reaching number 21 in the UK charts.

Wogan later performed the track on Top of the Pops with a backing track. Watch below as he just about managed to contain his laughter while singing from a podium.

Wogan died from cancer at the age of 77, with fan tributes pouring into Twitter soon after the news was announced.

The news of Terry Wogan’s death was announced by Bob Shennan, the controller of Radio 2, who said: “He passed away surrounded by his family. While we understand he will be missed by many, the family ask that their privacy is respected at this time.”
