The Masked Singer: Morten Harket says it was ‘blatantly obvious’ that he was Viking
A-ha singer was unmasked on Saturday night
Morten Harket has mocked The Masked Singer judges for not guessing that he was behind Viking’s costume.
The A-ha singer was finally unmasked on Saturday (30 January) after performing “The Scientist” by Coldplay.
While Harket was the bookies’ favourite to be Viking, with Ladbrokes giving the Norwegian musician odds of 2/1, none of the judging panel named him among their guesses.
Appearing on This Morning on Monday (1 February), Harket said that he was shocked to have gone through the show undetected, in particular when he gave the biggest clue of all and sang his own song, A-ha’s “Take On Me”.
“I thought it was blatantly obvious before [that performance] that it was me,” he said.
“The way to tell a lie is to stick to the truth. You know, you have to speak truth, all the time. You just have to dodge the question so twist them in ways, so that you can speak truth. Once you begin lying, once you begin not telling the truth, you’re losing it.’
Viking wasn’t the only contestant to be unmasked on The Masked Singer this week, with Blob revealed to be Lenny Henry after weeks of speculation from fans.
The Masked Singer returns Saturday at 7pm on ITV.
