The OA part II official trailer

The OA Part II is almost upon us – and one of its new cast additions is hyping the new batch of episodes.

Kingsley Ben-Adir has joined the cast of the second season of the Netflix series, which stars Brit Marling, Jason Isaacs and Phyllis Smith.

He plays Karim Washington, a detective whom – upon searching for a missing teenager named Michelle (Chloë Levine) – crosses paths with Marling’s protagonist, Prairie, also known as The OA.

British actor Ben-Adir, best known to audiences for his role of Dr Marcus Summer in the ITV series Vera, told The Independent that he signed up to the series after becoming “obsessed” with small details of the script.

Together, they also attempt to work out what’s happening at the house on Nob Hill and its connection to the disappearance of several teenagers.

“It was interesting to me for so many reasons,” he said. “As the season goes on, things happen that are so unimaginable – your imagination could never guess where it’s going.”

Washington is the main new cast addition in the season, which arrives almost three years after it first debuted on the streaming service.

The OA Part II will be available to stream on Netflix from 22 March. You can find a full list of everything joining Netflix in April here.
