The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 3 The Cell Trailer

The trailer of The Walking Dead season 7's third episode has been released and it shows Daryl Dixon in a way we've never seen him before.

In the traumatic season opener, Negan kidnapped the character supposedly to use him as leverage against Rick (Andrew Lincoln).

It seems we'll be catching up with him in episode 3, titled 'The Cell,' as it's fair to say we've never seen the usually fearless fan favourite look more fearful.

Stripped off his trademark jacket and crossbow, Daryl's been forced to wear some grubby clothing with an A painted on it - he's clearly been marked out as Saviour property.

One chilling moment sees he and Dwight (Austin Amelio) kneel to the floor out of respect of the fearsome antagonist who butchered Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) characters to death in the season 7 premiere.

It's unclear whether Negan has another motive for wanting Daryl but it certainly seems like he and Dwight will be paired off for the majority of the season to come.

Actor Norman Reedus previously described his season 7 story arc as "dark."

Episode 2 aired in the US last night (30 October). Titled 'The Well,' it saw the introduction of King Ezekiel (Khary Payton), the leader of brand new faction The Kingdom, as well as several other talking points.

The Walking Dead season 7 continues in the UK on Monday at 9pm on FOX.
