The Walking Dead season 7 episode 4 paid touching tribute to fallen character

The Walking Dead season 7's fourth episode 'Service' caught up with Rick Grimes and co for the first time since the traumatic events of the premiere episode. You know, the one which saw Negan brutally murder two main characters in cold blood.

Basing this week's events at Alexandria, this episode serves as the first season 7 appearance of many characters who we soon realise were all told about the fates of both Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) and Glenn (Steven Yeun) off-screen.

While we may not see the intial announcement made to the group, the episode does contain plenty of references to Glenn - one of which is a touching tribute courtesy of character Enid (Katelyn Nacon).

Enid shared screen time with Glenn last season after viewers learned he was, in fact, still alive following an event which saw him pulled into a horde of walkers by Nicholas (Michael Traynor). Heading back to Alexandria together, they let off a set of balloons they found to signal to Maggie (Lauren Cohan) that he was on his way to her.

You can relive the moment below (soundtracked to LeAnn Rimes, of course).

This episode saw the Saviours ransack Alexandria, taking ownership of everything from beds and chairs to guns. At one stage, we see one of Negan's men harrass Enid, attempting to take Glenn's leftover balloons from her. Touchingly, she begs for him to let her keep them - a mark of rememberance for the fallen character.

These were the five major talking points from the latest episode, the review of which you can read here.

The Walking Dead continues in the US every Sunday with a UK airdate following on Mondays at 9pm on FOX
