The X Factor final 2015: Che Chesterman sent home, as Louisa Johnson and Reggie 'N' Bollie are through to the final

Ché Chesterman has been eliminated, as both favourite Louisa Johnson and duo Reggie 'N' Bollie head to Sunday's final. 

Though it may be surprising to some, the results appear to coincide exactly with predictions for the show's turnout. Betting agency William Hill gave Louisa 1/5 odds, Reggie 'N' Bollie 9/2 odds, and Ché 14/1 odds. 

Tonight's major point of interest was, of course, the celebrity duets. Louisa played it safe by joining mentor Rita Ora onstage for "And I'm Telling You" (who needs a big name when you're almost guaranteed to win?); it was Ché who nabbed the biggest name of the night, Rod Stewart, for a rendition of "First Cut is the Deepest". Though, most will agree Reggie 'N' Bollie stole the night by bringing on the legend that is Craig David, with Fuse ODG in for a mix of "Dangerous Love" and "Re-Rewind". 
 

The night seemed particularly focused on bringing back some of the show's own success stories (and Ben Haenow); Leona Lewis belting out her cover of Snow Patrol's "Run", and both Little Mix and Fleur East teaming up for a distinctly Moulin Rouge-esque performance. With the show's falling ratings, and fears it may be on the verge of cancellation, is this a last-ditch attempt to prove its own worthiness?

The show elsewhere featured a rather odd opening number: which featured Simon Cowell's entrance guarded by a troupe of Stormtroopers and a spoof of the John Lewis ad with Louis Walsh as the Man on the Moon. There weren't any major goofs from the presenters this evening (cough, Olly Murs, cough), though there was a technical mix-up which left us listening to the entire Wembley area booing at the screen.

Sunday's show promises appearances from a triple-attack of huge stars: Adele, Coldplay, and One Direction's last performance before their highly publicised break. And, of course, the results of who will be crowned final champion of X Factor 2015.
