Or in the fall, for those in the US

Very little has been revealed about Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May’s upcoming Amazon Prime show except that it will focus on cars and has a reported £4 million per episode budget.

However, thanks to an AMA with Captain Slow, we now know when to expect the definitely-not-called-Gear-Knobs programme.

"The Autumn, or fall if you're in the US. That's as specific as I can be,” he told one excited Reddit user.

Other things we learnt from the question and answer session include how - when they appeared on Top Gear - the trio were “always pretty free to do what we liked”. May is also “very” tired of being asked about co-host Jeremy Clarkson.

Earlier this month, the first fan-filmed footage of the new Amazon Prime show emerged online, the three presenters all squashed into what has been described as a 'Monster Mercedes’.

Last year, Clarkson was fired from the BBC’s Top Gear after his infamous ‘fracas’, with Chris Evans taking over as host. Joining him will be Matt LeBlanc, who recently caused controversy by leaving skid marks around the Cenotaph in London.

Earlier this week, the BBC announced that a new editor has been brought onto the show, the broadcaster denying that it was to ‘keep Evans in line’ as reported elsewhere.
