Top Gear's popular Star In A Reasonably Priced Car segment will be replaced with Star In A Rallycross Car, which will feature a new car and a new track when the series returns later this month.

Celebrities will race around a new circuit which features a rallycross zone, a water splash area and a jump, rather than the standard racing track guests used to take on, according to RadioTimes.com.

Gordon Ramsay and Jesse Eisenberg will be the first stars to zip round the course and the Vauxhall Astra of previous series will be replaced with a “suped up” red Mini Cooper with enhanced suspension.

New Top Gear co-host Matt LeBlanc was the champion of the previous segment, racing around the track in an impressive 1 minute 42.1 seconds in a Kia Cee'd, narrowly defeating previous record holder Rowan Atkinson.

Michael Fassbender and John Bishop also put in impressive showings in their reasonably priced cars during the Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May era of the show.

The new series of Top Gear, fronted by Chris Evans, returns on Sunday May 29 on BBC2.
