The Walking Dead fans might have to wait months for the season 10 finale because of coronavirus
Current series will end with its penultimate episode for the time being
Fans of The Walking Dead might have to wait months for the finale of season 10, after producers revealed they were unable to finish the episode due to the coronavirus outbreak.
This means the current series will end with its penultimate episode on 5 April, and the final episode will be broadcast as a special later in 2020.
AMC said the worldwide pandemic had made it "impossible" to finish the episode on time.
"Current events have unfortunately made it impossible to complete post-production of The Walking Dead season 10 finale, so the current season will end with its 15th episode on April 5," the network said.
AMC promises the finale will be "an epic, action-packed thriller with plenty of surprises".
The Walking Dead continues in the US every Sunday on AMC and is shown in the UK the following evening on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV.
It was forced to postpone pre-production on season 11 after the TV industry ground to a halt to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
