WandaVision reveals explanation for sitcom reality

WandaVision fans have been left unimpressed by the explanation of Evan Peters’ appearance in the series.

The Marvel TV show drew to a close this week with an action-packed episode that tied up the majority of the show’s plot points, as well as teasing future Marvel films.

Viewers were largely impressed by the finale that’s been branded “heartbreaking” by fans.

However, the treatment of Peters’ Pietro – who showed up in the MCU show having appeared in the X-Men franchise – has left many fans feeling a bit angry.

His presence in the series provided WandaVision with one of its biggest talking points, especially considering he was the first major non-MCU character to show up in the MCU.

Many thought Evan Peters’ appearance in ‘WandaVision’ would have a greater meaning ((Disney Plus))

It was because of this that Pietro found himself as the centre of many theories, some of which predicted he would be revealed to be the villains Mephisto or Nightmare.

That wasn’t the case at all – the final revealed that Pietro was, in fact, the Westview resident Ralph who Agnes/Agatha (Kathryn Hahn) had been mentioning all series long.

It was revealed that he had taken Pietro’s appearance as a result of a spell that was upheld using an enchanted necklace.

His full name? Ralph Bohner.

“They used Evan Peters who was Quicksilver for a ‘Ralph Bohner’ joke... A BONER JOKE,” one fan wrote in response to this moment.

Another added: “Y’all telling me Evan Peters didn’t play Quicksilver and instead was a man named Ralph Boner the whole time.”

Echoing this statement was another viewer, who stated: “So ur telling me they brought in Evan Peters JUST FOR A BONER JOKE???

Someone else accused the show of “overhyping” his appearance with another stating: “Evan Peters deserved better.”

Viewers also decried the lack of a Doctor Strange cameo in the finale, but were hyped to see his sequel set up in a chilling post-credits sequence involving the Darkhold.
