Scarlet Witch gives birth to twins in WandaVision

The creator of the Marvel spin-off series WandaVision has teased that the show will soon start “clarifying what is going on”.

Releasing weekly on Disney+, the series focuses on Avengers character Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) as they live out a series of 20th-century sitcom parodies.

The opening three episodes have so far left viewers in the dark, offering only vague clues about the reality of their situation.

Speaking to The Wrap, WandaVision’s head writer Jac Schaeffer said: “We will need to start answering some questions and clarifying what’s going on.

“I don’t want to spoil it by telling you how we do it, but there are answers to be had in the upcoming episodes.”

The recent third episode of the series included a reference to the death of Wanda’s brother Pietro in Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015).

Schaeffer also said that the show would explore the characters’ “trauma”.

“The show is about Wanda and Vision and it’s an opportunity to dig deeper into who they are,” she said. “And that has to do with where they come from.

“We’re all a product of our experiences and our trauma and our relationships. And so we will be exploring all of those details of their pasts as we move forward.”

New episodes of WandaVision will arrive on Disney+ every Friday.
