American Horror Story producer Ryan Murphy has announced on Twitter that Jyoti Amge, the world's smallest woman, will take a role in its latest 'Freak Show' season.
The 20-year-old, from Nagpur, India, stands at just over two feet tall.
She was named the world's smallest woman by the Guinness Book of World Records in 2011, with her diminutive stature being down to a growth disorder called achondroplasia.
It is not yet known precisely what role she will play, with the latest season of the horror series focusing on a touring freak show in the 1950s.
"Jessica [Lange] and our newest cast member Jyoti Amge...the world's smallest woman," Murphy wrote on Twitter, alongside an image of the pair.
Amge's casting comes a day after singer and actress Patti LaBelle joined the show.
American Horror Story: Freak Show will air on FX and though it is expected in October has yet to be given a formal release date.
