In the world of soaps, June Brown (aka Dot Cotton) is to leave EastEnders and Jesse Birdsall, villain of Eldorado, complained at the hassles of celebrity when a fan took his photograph in a London club. Andrew Sachs (Every Silver Lining) turned down a pounds 4m job offer in the US.
