Twilight of the golds
The Golds are a happy family living in New York. The son is gay and is working on a production of The Ring Cycle; the daughter, Suzanne, is pregnant. Her husband claims that his medical research can determine the sexual orientation of their unborn baby. When they discover their baby is going to be gay, the moral dilemma proffered in Jonathan Tolins' new play, The Twilight of the Golds, is set: would you abort a child if you knew it was going to be gay?
The furious debate that ensues is paralleled by Wagner's epic voyage through death and renewal.
Polly James directs this Guy Chapman/Paul Spyker production, and we have a pair of free tickets and a Wagner CD, courtesy of MDC records, on offer for the first 10 entries picked out of the hat.
