It was interesting having Tracey Emin first, because you got hit by all this emotional baggage. You feel quite drained. But I also think she's brave. I mean, what a life! It was quite hard for the others to outshine her. I liked Steve McQueen's Deadpan, I thought it was mesmerising.

I don't think I could make a quick judgement about the winner. I liked Steven Pippin's washing machines, that was a novel idea, a sort of fish's-eye lookout. But I suppose Tracey has the edge, because she's been more daring, and she's been able to relate to the darker aspects in all of us.

Tracey Emin I already know, because she went to the same foundation as me. I hadn't really heard much about the others. I think Jane and Louise Wilson do good work. Steve McQueen is also good. If I was on the jury, and had to be really critical, it would have to be the Wilsons.

I think the people who award the prize will give it to the Wilson sisters, because of their Serpentine show - which was a lot better than the work they've got here. Steve McQueen's Deadpan, with the falling building, was excellent, one of the strongest pieces in the show overall.
