Celine Assaf joined The Independent in 2019 and currently manages a team of international content executives. With more than two decades of experience in translation, she has previously worked for media organisations such as AP, AFP and Thomson Reuters. She is an expert in language quality assurance, and closely follows human rights issues in the MENA region through her work as Arabic language consultant for Amnesty International. She also has a strong interest in translation technology advancements through AI.
