Discovery Channel's sites are USA's most visited nature websites in October 2009

Discovery Digital Media's portfolio of websites together form the most visited nature-oriented leisure websites of October 2009, according to a new study from internet market research firm ComScore.

The Discovery Digital Media Sites together comprised the 47th most visited web property during October with a grand total of 20,707,000 visitors, and include The Discovery Channel and Animal Planet among subscription television channels.

Well-known sustainability website TreeHugger.com is also part of the Discovery Communications network and, according to a Nielsen Netratings assessment in 2008, was at that time 6 times more active than any other sustainability website.

The Weather Channel's website, Weather.com, was the 20th most visited website in October with 41,354,000 visitors, and beat its owner's own website NBC Universal by eight places. Weatherbug.com came in at 42nd with 22,034,000 monthly visitors.
