Police are investigating claims that a man tried to sell the bones and teeth of a whale found dead on a beach.

The sperm whale was discovered at Old Hunstanton in north Norfolk on Christmas Eve and has drawn crowds of visitors. Its lower jaw and teeth were removed within hours of it washing up.

Norfolk Police have confirmed they are investigating a west Norfolk man who created a Facebook page advertising the body parts for sale.

Sperm whales are a protected species and removing anything from a body for trade or sale is illegal.
