A series of questions put to the public in 1939 have been asked again in 2015, with some suprising results given the 76-year gap.

YouGov repeated the questions originally asked by the British Institute of Public Opinion in 1939, revealing what the consensus of beliefs were in the months leading up to the Second World War.
