Anyone looking to slim down for the beach this summer could do worse than getting on their mobile. No, nattering away won't shed the pounds, but a new generation of phones that double as virtual personal trainers should help.
Samsung recently tied up with Adidas to offer miCoach ( www.micoach.com), which uses sensors in footwear and clothing to monitor your vital stats and delivers tailored workouts to your phone.
Nokia's prototype Eco-Sensor (www. nokia.com/ A4707477), meanwhile, will monitor everything from humidity to vehicle pollution levels.
And HealthClubTV.com, launching later this month, will offer minute-long exercise videos that can be downloaded direct to mobiles. Now we just need a phone that can deliver willpower.
