The nominations for the Bafta Games awards 2020 have been announced.

Hideo Kojima's ambitious epic Death Stranding leads the pack with a total of 11 nominations, despite being overlooked in the Best Game category.

Also with 11 nominations is Control, the superb sci-fi thriller developed by Remedy Entertainment.

Disco Elysium also bagged seven nominations, including Best Game.

The nominations covered titles from across the gaming spectrum, from popular online multiplayer games such as Fortnite and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, to arthouse releases by small independent studios.

For the EE Mobile Game of the Year award, well-known franchise entries Pokémon GO and Call of Duty: Mobile were nominated alongside more obscure titles, such as SFB Games' Tangle Tower.
