Final Fantasy fans rejoice - Square Enix has released a demo for this summer's Final Fantasy 15 (FFXV), and it's available now from the PlayStation and Xbox stores.

Billed as a demo for "fans and first-timers alike", it sees players take on the role of protagonist Noctis as a child.

Interestingly, it's not a traditional demo - the gameplay won't appear in the final game, so it's more of a strange, dream-like prologue which shows off FFXV's gameplay, graphics and features.

During the demo, the player will see Noctis build up his skills in fighting, magic and driving.

According to Square Enix, Noctis will be helped during the 'Platinum Demo' by Carbuncle, a "magical guide", who will become a part of the final game at launch for players who complete this early release.

FFXV will launch on 30 September on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, so hopefully the demo should keep gamers busy until then.
