Tower defence can be a pretty samey genre, so credit to the developer Tall Chair for finding a new approach with Cowboys vs Zombies. In place of the usual overhead view is a 3D stretch of Wild West road, down which marauding zombies march. The trick is to balance defence of your ramshackle buildings with knowing when to fall back. It may not be all that thrilling, but for 59p the balanced gameplay and pretty graphics make this an entertaining diversion for blasts on the bus.
