It looks like the unholy child of Halo and Gears of War, and features all the hallmarks of the average futuristic run-and-gun console game – genetic modification, hi-tech battle armour, kick-ass weapons, out-there vehicles and a convoluted back story.

Apart from a neat feature called terrain deformation, which enables you to play god with the layout of the battlefield, this third person shooter feels too tick-box to be truly great. It looks pretty and things explode with the requisite regularity, but it fails, overall, to impress.
