If ever there was a case where you shouldn’t judge a game by its cover – or its opening shots – then this is it. Little King’s Story looks cute, fluffy and unchallenging, two parts fairy-tale to one part Japanese randomness. A small boy becoming a regal leader in a kingdom that’s down on its luck doesn’t sound like the start of an awe-inspiring epic and empire building adventure that’s charming and taxing at equal turns, but that’s exactly what Little King’s Story is. A superb game and a wonderful surprise.
