Games Review: MadWorld
Wii, Sega, £39.99

What’s black and white and red all over?
Mad-World, the game that takes the Wii’s
family reputation and runs it through with a
monochrome chainsaw. With its stark comic-
book visuals, rivers of blood and a
never-ending stream of profanity-heavy
dialogue, this ismore like the film Sin City
than the average beat-‘em-up. You play
as Jack, an anti-hero out to win a contest
called Death Watch, which sees contestants
running riot through cities, killing their
opponents in order to be captured on CCTV.
By linking together complex attacks, players
win big points that in turn allow them to commit
ever more impressive crimes. MadWorld has
more style than substance but it marks a true
departure for the Wii.
