The release of this athletics title should catch the last wave of Olympics enthusiasm before the whole show is packed away for another four years.

After the disappointing official title failed to capitalise on the glory of the Games, how does this also-ran stand up? At first glance, it fails to get near the podium, thanks to ropey graphics, skimpy career modes and illogical point-scoring. The quality of events overall is uneven, with some - swimming - being ghastly, and others -archery - coming out on top. Stick to the events you like, though, and there's some fun to be had. It's better than its official rival, but only just.
