Games Review: Tomb Raider: Underworld
PS3, PS2, PC, Xbox 360, Eidos, £29.99 - £49.99
Three things stand out about the latest Tomb Raider title.
First, unlike in some recent outings, it’s actually a pleasure to take control of Ms Croft in all her motion-sensor glory. Second, during the underwater sections, scuba gear replaces the drown-or-find- air-pockets action of yore - a much more civilised way to play. Third, anyone feeling taxed by exploring the underworld for treasures can use the help-on-demand function. Lara is hardly a cutting-edge character these days, but fresh features and a new games engine keep this from feeling past its sell-by date.
