Those who have loyally purchased every instalment of Sega’s hero tennis title are likely to feel one of two things on encountering Virtua Tennis 2009. On the one hand, they might be pleased to have another chance to play one of the finest tennis franchises on the market, with great controls (especially on the Wii) and a refreshing lack of gimmicks. On the other, this plays less like a totally new title than a freshened-up take on previous Virtua Tennis games, so there’s a chance that paying punters could be a little disgruntled at investing in an identikit update.
