Games Reviews: Battlefield: Bad Company 2
£34.99 – £49.99
Format PC, PS3, Xbox 360
Publisher EA
Plot involving an alternative history where Russia gained ascendancy over the US? Check. Squad of mildly clichéd, battle-hardened soldiers left to redress the balance? Check. But while Battlefield: Bad Company 2, the latest first-person shooter from developers DICE, won’t win any awards for originality, it might for its explosive action, fuelled by an impressive graphics engine that allows whole structures to be levelled. While the single-player experience is adequate, it’s in the multiplayer elements that the game really shines; with numerous weapons to unlock, vehicles to pilot, ranks to attain and destructible environments to exploit, BC2’s online element is outstanding.
