Peaky Blinders: BBC series to be adapted into video game for consoles and PC
Peaky Blinders: Mastermind is coming out this summer
The hit BBC crime series Peaky Blinders is being adapted into a video game, which will be released on consoles and PC this summer.
Peaky Blinders: Mastermind will serve as a prequel to the first series of the programme, and will centre on Tommy Shelby (played on TV by Cillian Murphy) as he fends off a plot to sabotage his burgeoning criminal empire.
In the game, players control all six members of the Selby family, and navigate through a series of deadly puzzles to plan elaborate heists.
Director James Marsden said in a gameplay reveal video that “Tommy Shelby talks about how he has no concern for the future, no concern for the past”.
“He only cares about one minute, the ‘soldier’s minute’ where everything in a battle is decided. We’ve designed our entire game around this idea.”
Mastermind will be released on Nintendo Switch, PC platforms, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. So far, no price or release date has been confirmed.
This is news that will likely be welcomed by Peaky Blinders fans, many of whom were disappointed that filming on the forthcoming sixth series has been delayed due to the ongoing pandemic.
