Sony has announced a list of games that will be released on the PlayStation 5 console, including Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Resident Evil VIII: Village.

The announcements came as part of the “Future of Gaming” livestream event, which provided first-look clips at a host of upcoming releases.

Miles Morales is a sequel to the hit 2018 superhero game Spider-Man, and will see the character of Miles Morales take over the role of the famous web-slinger from Peter Parker. Village is the latest entry in the acclaimed Resident Evil horror franchise.

Horizon Forbidden West, a sequel to Horizon: Zero Dawn was among the games previewed during the event.

Other announcements included a Demon’s Souls remake, Gran Turismo 7, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Goodbye Volcano High, Soulstorm, first person action game Ghost-wire: Tokyo and a fantasy game called Project Athia.

And there’s a space thriller called Returnal, and Sackboy: A Big Adventure, a spin-off of Media Molecule’s beloved children’s LittleBigPlanet franchise.

Bethesta Softworks are also releasing a first person action game called Deathloop, and it was revealed that Grand Theft Auto V will be coming to PS5 in 2021.

Prior to the reveal event, details about upcoming PS5 games had been hard to come by. A few titles were already confirmed, such as Godfall, a PS5-exclusive action-RPG from the makers of Borderlands, and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, the Viking-era stealth game that featured in the Xbox game reveal event in May.

Several other titles announced for the Xbox Series X were also already confirmed for the PS5 before the livestream started, including off-road racing game DiRT 5, American football simulator Madden NFL 21 and hack-and-slash game Scarlet Nexus, as well as existing free-to-play properties Destiny 2, Fortnite, and Warframe.

The PS5 console is scheduled to hit shelves towards the end of the year.
