A new Spider-Man game could be heading to the PS5 in the foreseeable future.
A recent report confirmed that Sony paid a staggering $229m (£176m) in November 2019 to acquire Insomniac Games, the company that developed the acclaimed PS4 game Spider-man .
Since the acquisition, there have been credible rumours (including from Kinda Funny's Imram Khan) that a new Spider-Man game would be released in 2021, shortly after the new PS5 consoles will reach shelves.
And websites such as inverse.com have posited that the hefty price tag attached to Insomniac means that a sequel to Spider-man will now be a top priority for Sony.
Released in 2018, Spider-Man allowed players to navigate around an intricately rendered replica of Manhattan as web-slinging superhero Peter Parker.
