Today’s a big day for tech fans in the US– the iPad officially goes on sale.

With Apple promising that the cyber slate will run almost all of the existing 150,000-plus apps currently available on the corporation’s app store, it’s set to up (app?) the ante for games designers who have been developing titles for the iPhone and iPod touch. There’s no official date yet for a UK launch (web gossip points to the end of the month) but one hacker already claims to have jailbroken Apple’s new toy. Some things never change.
