Awards season is gearing up but it’s not the pre-Oscars excitement that’s getting gamers under the collar.

Instead, it’s the announcement of the nominees for the Bafta games awards, rather than luvvies in posh frocks, causing a stir. The most-nominated titles this year are ‘Assassin’s Creed 2’, ‘Batman: Arkham Asylum’ and ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’. The winners will be announced on 19 March.
