This smartphone app lets you play Snake like you're on an old Nokia

Take your iPhone back to 1997

If you're nostalgic for the days when you weren't bombarded with notifications and battling drained batteries, 'Snake 97: retro phone classic' might be the app for you, which let's you play Snake like it's 1997.

The developer 'carefully analysed the classic gameplay, timing and controls' to make 'one of the most accurate Snake remakes available'.

It's a pretty solid effort (and free) - really the only thing missing is the satisfying click of the Nokia buttons.

Different fascias (boy, it's been a long time since I've used that word) have been added so you can enjoy the handset of your choice, no matter whether you were a 3210 or 3310 kind of guy/gal.

I like to think I'm pretty adept at the latest smartphone games but reverting back to this original is oddly challenging. I'm currently working off a top score of 21.
