This boilerplate superhero movie stars Ryan Reynolds as a cocky test pilot who's drafted into a super-powered intergalactic police force.

Like most comic-book films, it rushes through too much back-story and has too many supporting characters, but it's biggest problem is the absence of a memorable villain. All Green Lantern has is a computer-generated alien who looks like a sewage spill with a face.
