Next week's selection offers fashion lovers eight days of style celebration in Milan, a major Turner exhibition continuing its international tour in Paris, music awards in London and the Swedish largest cross country skiing race in the world, among other events.

Turner and his painters (Turner et ses peintres) presents a selection of paintings by JMW Turner (1775-1851) alongside related works by the old masters and contemporaries. Previously seen in London under Turner and the Masters, this exhibition brings together around one hundred works of historical significance from collections around the world. It is the first exhibition to look at Turner's work in the company of the greatest painters in the preceding history of western art such as Poussin, Rembrandt, Rubens and many others.

Milan Fashion Week

Milan has released its official schedule but it's not set in stone just yet: Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of US Vogue, has announced that she would only stay three days in the Italian fashion capital due to overlappings with Paris Fashion Week and the Oscars, and her declaration has caused a panic among Italian designers trying to reschedule their shows according to Wintour's presence. It is not only an obvious sign of her power (a local newspaper titled she was the woman who "holds Italian fashion in the palm of her hand") but also one of Milan Fashion Week's dwindling relevance, at least in her opinion.

NME: music awards

The largest cross-country race in the world is again set to bring tens of thousands of skiers from around the globe to Mora, Sweden. Vasaloppet week will take place from February 26 to March 7, when it will climax with the signature 90km Vasaloppet race. Every competitor must finish the race under 12 hours.
