Miami to host prestigious art fair and satellite events
Show all 2The biggest contemporary art show in the US will take place this December in Miami.
The beach-side city of Miami will be turned into a hub for art lovers and enthusiasts during the first week of December. Art Basel Miami Beach - the most prestigious contemporary art show in the US - will take place from December 3 to 6 and will be surrounded by a host of art shows and exhibitions planned to coincide with the event.
As the sister event of Switzerland's famous Art Basel art show, the event draws the crème de la crème of the art scene - functioning as both an avenue for collectors and dealers to purchase works by artists creating tomorrow's art trends and as a social networking event for the "who's who" of the American art scene.
More than 250 galleries will showcase artworks at Art Basel Miami Beach from around 2,000 leading contemporary artists hailing from across the world. The high caliber of galleries exhibiting at Art Basel Miami Beach puts the art show on par with London's Frieze Art and Paris's FIAC.
Events running parallel to the Art Basel Miami Beach include Design Miami, Art Asia, Art Miami, Aqua Art Miami, Focai Art Fair, Fountain Miami, INK Miami Fair, NADA Art Fair, NOBE 67 ART, photo MIAMI, Pool Art Fair, Pulse, Dred Dot Fair, SCOPE, and Verge Art Fair.
