1. Grey Flower eau de parfum

Reiss’s debut fragrance is the work of a world-renowned “nose”, available at a high street price point. The reassuringly weighty flaçon contains a scent that has a sophisticated heart of night-flowering jasmine and deep sequoia wood, and a base of amber and skin musks.

£49 for 100ml, Reiss, selfridges.com

2. Peony and Blush Suede eau de cologne

Inspired by the grand country-house balls of the early twentieth century, fans of all things ultra-feminine will love the powerful hit of romantic peony. But the addition of crisp, fresh apple and soft, leathery suede will appeal to a tomboy alter-ego, too.

£78 for 100ml, Jo Malone, jomalone.com

3. Silver Iris cologne absolue

The creators of Atelier Cologne have not only created a whole new fragrance family, the fresh but long-lasting Cologne Absolue, but have also infused silver into the glass of this bottle. As for the scent? Violet and blackcurrant almost fizz down into a deep patchouli.

£130 for 100ml, Atelier Cologne, selfridges.com

4. ME eau de parfum

In true Lanvin style, the house’s new fragrance, ME, is floral with a fresh attitude. This fruity blend of mandarin, tuberose and blueberry is sweet in a punchy, rather than pretty, way.

£65 for 80ml, Lanvin, harveynichols.com

5. Intense eau de parfum

Messrs Dolce and Gabbana wanted their new fragrance to be “rich, opulent and full-bodied” and it certainly is. After a light hint of orange blossom, this oriental floral sinks deep into a velvety tuberose, before reaching a soft sandalwood and marshmallow finish.

£79 for 100ml, Dolce&Gabbana, boots.com

6. Rose en Noir eau de parfum

Lyn Harris has explored the dark side of the bloom with this scent. Spicy notes of cumin and coriander are carried over a base of black tobacco, musky Ambrette seed and patchouli leaves, while Turkish rose runs through its heart.

£95 for 100ml, Miller Harris, millerharris.com

7. 1996 eau de parfum

Iconic photographers Inez and Vinoodh teamed up with Swedish fragrance house Byredo to create a scent inspired by their favourite work of photography, “Kirsten 1996”. The result has the scent of cognac, amber and warm wood.

£130 for 100ml, Byredo, liberty.co.uk

8. Jeke eau de parfum

Subtitled “Strange and unique perfumes”, there is no doubt that Slumberhouse’s explosion into the world of scent has divided the olfactory community. Of the four fragrances in the range, Jeke is the most perfect for this time of year, with its spicy blend of Lapsang Souchong, cloves and vanilla.

£95 for 30ml, Slumberhouse from Roullier White, roullierwhite.com

9. Blue Invasion eau de parfums

The noses at Comme love being inspired by colour, and this year they were feeling blue. Perfect to wear for the shift into autumn, the collection of three fragrances ranges from a pine-laced sandalwood, to a smoky incense.

£75 each, Comme des Garçons, selfridges.com

10. Sì eau de parfum

Just like the “face” of this campaign, Cate Blanchett, Armani’s new fragrance is strong and modern yet feminine. Powerful cassis is paired with rich vanilla, while the floral notes of freesia and rose de mai run through it.

£85 for 100ml, Giorgio Armani, selfridges.com
