UEFA Europa League tickets to retail December 1, €55 to €150

Ticketing details for the first ever UEFA Europa League final have been revealed, and passes to the May 20 event in Hamburg will cost between €55 and €150, depending on seating arrangements.

Advanced ticket sales to German residents go live at 10:00 CET (9:00 GMT) on Tuesday December 1 via the German Football Association website, dfb.de, and are limited to a maximum of two tickets per fan purchase. The ticketing window for this stage of sales is to run until January 15, should there be any general allocation left by then.

The UEFA Europa League was known as the UEFA Cup up until this season, but has had a name change along with a tweak in competition format.

For 2009/10, 48 teams have been divided into 12 groups of 4, as opposed to the previous 40 teams in 8 groups of 5, following a wider qualification phase intended to ensure a greater variety of competitors going through to the group and knockout stages.

Hamburg itself is situated in northern Germany, reasonably close to the Danish border and roughly parallel with Dublin, Manchester, Gdansk, Kaunas and Minsk.

The current home of Hamburger SV will host the finals, and though usually known as the HSH Nordbank Arena it will revert to the unsponsored name of Volksparkstadion for the Europa League decider.

Situated to the northwest of Hamburg, it is separated from the city by the Bundesautobahn 7 motorway, and reachable by means of car or public transport, with Hamburg's city railway system stopping off at the nearby Stellingen railway station.
