2000 Marisa Tempranillo, £4.99, Marks & Spencer

Made in Castilla-Leon from tempranillo by Telmo Rodrigues of Remelluri in Rioja renown, this juicy young red is unoaked for the optimum expression of raspberry and cherry fruit flavours. Like a young pinot noir, it goes well with roast pheasant or guinea fowl.
