Today the Globe opens a show on Broadway for the first time, with Mark Rylance and Stephen Fry appearing in a double bill of Richard III and Twelfth Night. But they're up against stiff competition, with more Shakespeare productions currently showing in New York than London, featuring stars from Ethan Hawke (Macbeth) to Orlando Bloom (Romeo and Juliet).
