Information is key during the coronavirus crisis – these are the ways we are getting it to you
This is a challenging time for us all, but we will aim to keep you informed and entertained to the best of our ability, writes Chris Stevenson

As we all get used to the new reality we face, there will be many questions that we want answers to.
Our job on the Voices desk at this time is to provide space for those who feel they need to let people know how things are affecting communities – from their schools to livelihoods.
Along with the rest of The Independent we must be sure to hold our politicians and institutions to account, while sharing as much information that you need as we can.
There have been great examples across departments over recent days, from travel correspondent Simon Calder’s “ask me anything” session, to the lifestyle desk’s easy-to-understand explainers of how to cope with this new world.
We will keep providing that service, whether it is pieces on how to deal with isolation to the broader point about the vulnerable people that need protecting.
The letters we receive always let us know how you are feeling and help us understand what else we should be providing – so please do keep sending them in. We know other readers appreciate reading your thoughts – even if everyone doesn’t always agree!
This is a challenging time for us all, but we will aim to keep you informed and entertained to the best of our ability. Getting the right blend of information versus distraction – for those who want to get away from the news at times – will always be a balancing act, but we will work to get it right.
Yours,
Chris Stevenson
