Santa Claus Pub Crawl: The police in the Australian city of Newcastle have warned participants in the annual Santa Claus Pub Crawl not to include any alcoholic drinks in their sacks. Any Santa with drink in his sack will be liable to a fine of A$550 (more than pounds 200). "We have had a lot of trouble with the Santa Claus Pub Crawl in the past, with property damage, stealing of garden gnomes and defecating and urinating Santas," a police spokeswoman said.
