'LITTLE' LOUIE'S BIRTHDAY PARTY

@ camden palace

The 'Little' Louie in question is none other than Mr Vega, DJ extraordinaire, and you won't find any jelly and ice cream at this birthday bash. The last time Louie played Camden Palace, it made for the best party of 1998 so far - this one looks set to raise the standard. With support from Masters at Work, Kenny "Dope" Gonzalez and special guest Be Be Winans, this is the garage gig of the week, the month and possibly the year.

Thursday, Camden High Street, NW1 (0171-837 1100) 10pm-6am pounds 9 in advance

Guess what starts on Wednesday? It will not be too hard to find a football match on TV this week, but you'll struggle to find a club whose World Cup promotions run deeper than lip service. Look no further! The promoters have decked the floor out like a football pitch with supporters positively encouraged to invade the area and party. Three rooms offer a plethora of musical styles courtesy of Val & Des, Roberto and special guest Mark Jarman in the main room, while Tim Nice, Austin DC and Paul Parsons control the beats next door. Come Dancing are London's master's of illusion; the gardens will look great and the clientele will dress to match.

Tonight, 229 Camberwell New Road, SE5 (0181-870 0777) 10pm-6am

Since its inception five years ago, the innovative CFLC has moved from Japan to Kent before relocating to the capital. Brandon Block, Laurence Nelson and Graham Gold currently keep the beats hard and bangin'.

Tonight, 6-7 Piazza, Covent Garden (0171-836 4052) 10.30pm-6am pounds 12.
