The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have celebrated Father’s Day with a new photograph of their son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

The royal couple shared the never-before-seen image of the one-month-old baby on their Instagram account.

Archie’s face can be seen and it shows the royal baby holding on to his father’s finger.

“Happy Father’s Day! And wishing a very special first Father’s Day to The Duke of Sussex” the caption reads.

It is unknown who took the picture.

The new image of Prince Harry and his son has been liked more than 400,000 times and received hundreds of comments.

“What an adorable picture! I love it. Thank you very much for sharing,” one person wrote.

Another added: “Hello little Archie!!! He is so precious—thank you for sharing this with us! Happy first Father’s day, Harry!”

A third person wrote: “What a gorgeous pic. A lovely way to introduce him to the world.”

The royal parents celebrated Mother’s Day in a similar way, sharing a photograph of Archie’s feet being held by his mother.

The image also paid tribute to Prince Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana, by featuring her favourite flower, forget-me-nots, in the background.

“Paying tribute to all mothers today – past, present, mothers-to-be, and those lost but forever remembered. We honour and celebrate each and every one of you,” the caption read.

The royal baby was born on 6 May and introduced to the world two days later.

“Parenting is amazing,” Prince Harry said at the time.

“It’s only been what, two and a half days, three days? But we’re just so thrilled to have our own little bundle of joy to spend some precious times with him as he slowly starts to grow up.”

Markle said of her husband and her son: “It’s magic, it’s pretty amazing. I have the two best guys in the world so I’m really happy."
