Animated behaviour is breaking out all over the country. While, the 4th Bradford Animation Festival (BAF!) gets underway this weekend, on Tuesday, a new exhibition at the Museum of the Moving Image, provides an exclusive preview of Gerald Scarfe's designs and art direction for Hercules, the new major animated feature from Disney, which goes on release from 10 Oct.

This year, BAF! is adopting a global perspective and includes new work from Canada and the US. Other highlights include tomorrow's celebration of Japanese animation, and Dr Robin Allan's lecture on Disney (10 Jun). In addition, Simpsons addicts have a rare chance to see their heroes on the big-screen, when yet-to-be-shown episodes are previewed on 9 June. Meanwhile, in London Hercules: Gerald Scarfe meets Walt Disney highlights the cartoonist's defining contribution to the look of Disney's latest creation. Hundreds of drawings will fill the gallery, while film footage, and panel displays chart the process from conception to screen. Tickets for BAF! 01274 732277; MOMI, London SE1 (0171-928 3535)
