Police recovered 28 stolen social security benefit books when they raided an unemployed man's flat in east London, the Old Bailey heard. Patrick Foley, 58, of Beechwood House, Bethnal Green, was jailed for six months after he admitted conspiring to steal money from the Department of Social Security. The books were forged with fake date stamps and used to obtain more than pounds 4,000.
