Music Theatre London made its name with intimate yet hugely theatrical productions of Mozart, wittily re-orchestrated for chamber ensembles. Their greatest hit was undoubtedly their sensationally funny and powerfully dramatic The Marriage of Figaro but in recent years their canvas has broadened to include Verdi, via a notably heartfelt Traviata. For their current tour they are reviving their extremely successful Cosi fan tutte but they are also moving into new territory with their first Puccini. The new production is a Nineties take on La Boheme in which, we told, "men behave badly and women fall in love".
